Early Packet Pickup

The first of two early packet pickup opportunities in Washington DC, This one is earlier in the day at this family owned running store with a deeply rooted connection to the running community in the Washington DC Metro area. A great place to pick up last minute race items. In-store specials and a $10 discount coupon to accompany bib and shirt.

Only registered guests will be able to pick up their packets at this event. Your packet will be available at the Expo and available for Race Day pickup if you sign up for but miss this event.

Welcome Reception and Wine Tasting

The 2nd of two pre-race events in Washington DC on Thursday, May 31st. This is the official kick-off to the race weekend festivities and you are invited to join the race director and other runners for a relaxing and enjoyable reception on the rooftop at Ardeo+Bardeo a Cleveland Park neighborhood restaurant located just a block from the Potomac River Running Company. Sample gourmet appetizers paired with wines from DC’s Wine Country. Race bibs and shirts will be available for pick-up at this event. Tickets to the event are required for early packet-pick up.

Pre-Race Pasta Dinner with Jeff Galloway

This year's Virginia Wine Country Half Marathon pre-race pasta dinner is going to be an event you won’t want to miss! Be inspired by Jeff Galloway, a world class marathoner and trainer to over 200,000 runners and walkers with his marathon training program. Tonight we'll dine at the historic Morven Park, former home of Virginia Governor Westmoreland Davis. This stunning home sits on over 1000 acres of gardens, equestrian fields and forest. Join fellow runners to learn more about the race, the course and race preparation. Relax, meet elite runners and other guests, and swap race stories as you prepare for race morning. Menu to include farm fresh salads, homemade pasta, assorted breads and locally made dessert. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.

Finisher’s Celebration
Tarara Winery

Runners and their family and friends are invited to a relaxing evening on the beautiful grounds of Tarara Winery. Relax under the stars at Tarara's Shadow Lake and enjoy great wine and music by "Pebble to Pearl. Food will be available for purchase or bring a picnic, lawnchair, and blanket for seating. Virginia law prohibits outside alcohol.

Loudoun County Winery Tours-Sold Out!

Saturday afternoon following the race join fellow runners and bring your friends and family to tour the unique wineries of Loudoun County. Tours will depart from Lansdowne Resort and include transportation to 2-3 wineries. Any tasting fees will be paid directly to each winery upon arrival.

Participating wineries include: 8 Chains North Winery, Bluemont Vineyard, Corcoran Vineyards, Loudoun Valley Vineyards, Northgate Vineyard, Notaviva Vineyards, & Zephaniah Winery.
